APPLICATIONS

The MODIEWARK AC TESTER is designed to detect the presence of the alternating electric field surrounding an energized conductor and to determine its approximate potential.

TWO MODELS AVAILABLE

S9A TRANSMISSION MODEL: Designed to indicate at approximately 10 inches from a conductor energized at the following voltage settings: Off, 240 V (test), 2.4, 15, 25, 35, 69, 115, 230 kV.

S10A DISTRIBUTION MODEL: Designed to indicate at approximately two inches from a conductor energized at the set voltage or in contact with the test point on a URD elbow. Settings: Off, 240 V (test), battery, 4.8 kV urd, 7.2 kV urd, 16 kV urd, 2.4/4.2 overhead, 4.8/8.3 kV overhead, 8.0/13.8-7.2/12.5 overhead, 14.4/25-16/27.6 overhead, 44kV overhead, 69 kV overhead.

Lineman may easily self test the Modiewark prior to use by setting to the 240 V (test) position and rubbing the instrument head on a shirt or trousers. In addition, the S10A incorporates a battery test point, which provides audio indication of "Battery Good" condition.
